Cuba – a beautiful, chaotic, adventurous, disorganized, fun, frustrating and at times just damn exhausting paradox.
From the capital’s stunning Malecon sunsets, to its timeless necropolis cemetery – burial place to many-a-famous Cuban, not least Ibrahim Ferrer of Buena Vista Social Club. And from the gorgeous but overly touristic beaches of Varadero, to the quiet, forgotten sugar mill valley of Trinidad and the historical but infamous village of Playa Giron in the Bay of Pigs. Every little corner of you has something to offer. And all this, with the backdrop of your impossible-to-ignore revolution and the constant reminders of it through the anti-gringo propaganda that can be seen scattered throughout the island.
Stuck in time, yet simultaneously trying to break free of its complex history. It will make you laugh and smile. It might even make you curse in frustration. However it makes you feel, long after you have left, your mind will travel back to it, as Cuba truly is a unique and unforgettable country.
