Although it was a near abandoned village 25 years ago, Lofou, in the Limassol district of Cyprus, is now listed under UNESCO.
The amphitheatre shaped village takes its name from the Greek word for hill, (“Lofos”) due to its location at the top of a 780 metre hill. Based around agrotourism and located along the Cypriot wine village route, visitors often spend time wandering around its cobbled streets, admiring its 19th century church and trying its local wine and sweets.
Oh and random fun fact; in 2016, at the age of just 22, Lofou voted in Nikos Spirou, one of the youngest mayors in the world.
